About
Chris Norlund
Welcome!
I'm Chris, and I'm glad you're here.
For over a decade, I had the privilege of teaching at some fantastic institutions: Tsinghua University in Beijing, Hongik University in Seoul, and the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. I loved helping students chase their dreams through courses in communication, advertising, international relations, business, and TV and film.
These days, over a million viewers tune in each week as I break down economic and political news daily on YouTube. My goal is simple: help you understand what's happening, why it matters, and what it means for you.
Before YouTube, I worked in TV and film, and before that, I served in the U.S. Navy.
My journey hasn't been typical. I was born at Pleiku Air Base at the end of the Vietnam War and survived the Operation Babylift plane crash. I lost my family and grew up believing I was an orphan, until after forty-eight years, I found them. It's a story I share in my book.
I'm a graduate of both Brown and Penn, and I speak Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Today, I live happily in Busan, Korea with my wife Yeji, doing work I love and connecting with people around the world.
